2010 Online Support Group Registration Committed to Freedom now offers online support groups for adult survivors of childhood abuse - using our workbook - The Uncaged Project As well as the newly released No Longer Alone. We have several different groups available for you to choose which one works best for you. All support groups will be in English. Please note, some of these retreats are for specific retreat alumni. Others will not be permitted acess to the group and will be refunded with a processing fee. Each group meets at a specified time, once a week for one hour in a secure online live chat room. The groups are limited to only nine members and are closed. This means that once the group begins, no new members will be allowed to join the group. After the first ten minutes of each meeting, the chat room is locked - meaning that no one else can join the discussion for that meeting. Each group meets for approximately seven weeks. Participation price is based on the group and is non-refundable, whether you participate each week or not. This price for non-retreat alumni groups includes a copy of the book and shipping. Prior to each meeting, you will be given an assignment to complete from that book. That assignment will be the basis for each week's discussion. Support groups are moderated by Committed to Freedom staff or volunteers who are available only during group meetings. The moderators are not counselors, therapists, or mental health professionals. Their capacity is only to moderate the group discussions based on the book. This group is only a support group. It is not a therapeutic group nor is it a substitute for professional counseling. Group members will not have access to any personal information of fellow group members and will not have access to other group member's email address or contact information. In order to participate, you must have access to a computer with internet capabilities and have a personal email account. We ask that you not use a "shared" email address. You must register online by midnight, Central Standard Time, of the deadline for each group. Once you have registered, you will be contacted by Committed to Freedom via email with instructions on how to join your support group's chat room. You will also be instructed to create a unique screen name using your first name only or another unique user name that does not give your full identity to your fellow group members. This is to keep each member safe as you proceed through the group experience. Once the group has completed the book, the group will be discontinued. Terms for Participation (You are required to comply with these Terms of Participation in order to participate): I verify that I am at least eighteen (18) years old and am the gender of the group for which I am registering, that I have access to a computer with internet capabilities and have a personal email account. I understand that Committed to Freedom Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides people with spiritual tools to move beyond abuse and that the focus is Christian spirituality. I understand that participation in this group is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. I understand that the group moderators are non-credentialed persons whose only role is to facilitate the group meetings - they are not counselors, therapists, or mental health professionals - and they are available only during the weekly group discussion meetings. I understand that I will not be advised to stop taking medication(s) or cancel physician/professional care. I understand that this group is not a therapeutic group, but a support group that will use the book, The Uncaged Project, as its basis for weekly discussion. I understand that I will be expected to complete the assignments given prior to each meeting and that all meetings will be in English. I agree that I will not provide any personal information to fellow group members and should I do so - I do so at my own risk and assume full responsibility for that action. I understand that the cost for participation in this group is $100.00 US, which is non-refundable, whether I participate each week or not. I understand that the group will begin promptly at the hour and day published and meet for approximately sixty (60) minutes. I understand that after the first ten (10) minutes of the weekly meeting, the group chat room will be locked and no one may enter for the remainder of that meeting. I understand that once the group completes The Uncaged Project, that the group will be discontinued. I will not hold Committed to Freedom Ministries, Inc., any of its staff, volunteers, board members or any other affiliated organizations and/or persons responsible for my progress or lack of progress. I waive any and all claims for myself and my heirs against Committed to Freedom Ministries, Inc., any of its staff, volunteers, board members or any other affiliated organizations and/or persons for injury or illness which may directly or indirectly result from participation. I verify that my participation in this support group is my choice and indicates that I am aware and capable of accepting full responsibility for myself and my actions.
